These works are part of an on-going series called colourshift.

I describe these works as light-space-time constructs. They are about ideas to do with light and luminous colour in the form of abstract luminous colour fields in which the entire surface is both figure and ground to be experienced as a physical and aesthetic presence.

The works are borne out of the medium of digital photography, which they address by challenging aspects of the complex technology involved in the digital process.
​
To create these works I subvert the digital camera’s modus operandi by forcing it to make sense of lighting conditions beyond the remit of its design. In doing so, through a process of creating environments of extreme lighting contrasts, I am pushing the digital technology to the extreme and producing artworks borne out of a process of fragmentation and reconfiguration.

My aim is to invite an experiential engagement and evoke possibilities within the imagination of the viewer.
